The Back to School Bash on August 17th, 2024, was an incredible success, thanks to the collaborative efforts of the Bixby Police Department, Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office, The Kinship Foundation, and all the amazing sponsors who came together to support our community’s children. Held at Bridge Church in Bixby, Oklahoma, this event was not just about providing school supplies; it was about uplifting our youth and ensuring they are ready for the new school year.
A special shout-out goes to Officer Jim Vazquez of the Bixby Police Department, who was the driving force behind this event. His dedication and leadership ensured that everything ran smoothly, and that the children and families who attended felt welcomed and supported. Thank you, Officer Vazquez, for your hard work and commitment to our community!
The day kicked off with a backpack giveaway for the first 500 students, ensuring that many children walked away with the essentials they need for school. The atmosphere was filled with excitement as kids eagerly lined up to receive their backpacks, each one filled with supplies to help them start the year on the right foot.
One of the highlights of the event was the incredible performance by the Inspyral Circus. Their amazing juggling skills and captivating acts brought smiles and awe to everyone in attendance. It was a performance that not only entertained but also inspired creativity and joy among the young attendees.
Ecdysis Barbershop generously provided free haircuts to the children, ensuring they looked their best for the first day of school. The barbers worked tirelessly, giving each child a fresh new look that boosted their confidence and made them feel ready to take on the school year.
The event featured a variety of activities, including face painting and balloon making, adding an extra layer of fun to the day. It was a time for families to come together, enjoy the festivities, and connect with their community.
